Truly amazing people, highly recommended.
Fun for the whole family!
(Based on the Beverley Academy) An excellent place to study martial arts.A typical session is a warmup, followed by air work and then usually punching or kicking pads. Sessions are varied. One week you'll do strikes, and the next could be mat work. The instructors are really nice and helpful too, very easy to work with. Other students are very friendly and welcoming, with a variety of people of different ages, builds and fitness levels. You get more lesson time depending on what stage you're at. Positive start lessons (beginner) are half an hour, Leadership (more advanced) is an hour, and Masters (techniques geared more towards real fights) adds another half hour on top. Every 10 weeks or so there's a grading session to receive a higher belt, where you demonstrate particular combinations you've been practicing. Occasionally there are bonus sessions too, including knife defence. They also give you a free practice session when you enquire for the first time, where you run through basic striking with an instructor.Highly recommended to everyone.
I have signed up my children for general physical fitness improvement and self-discipline development. I ended up joining myself. The class turned out to be a great family bonding time as well as a great motivation and inspiration. We can pop in to and family class available in Beverley or Driffield during the week and/or on Saturday mornings. The flexibility allows you to catch up on a missed training. Apart from a regular physical activity, we get to work through books as part of our gradings. This encourages even more family time- we really enjoy our discussions and brainstorming when dealing with the tasks. The class is a fantastic connection with the school and home life as children get rewarded for their various achievements outside the MA class with stamps and labels that go on their suits. Apart from the regular classes, there are additional sessions organise, i.e. Superkick seminars or Self-defence classes. They give you an opportunity to meet and train with other instructors. Also, occasionally trainees get together for various outings, family days and BBQs. The class gives you all- a great workout, an opportunity to let the steam off, wonderful atmosphere where anyone is always happy to help and a bit of socialising on the side.
My son loves coming here and I really feel he's learning skills for life as well as martial arts
