Very basic and in much need of some TLC. However our room was very clean and spacious. The owner was helpful. For the price it was fine. Would use again.
I. booked a room through Booking . Com.and confirmed my booking with the venue on the Thursday before arrival date telling the woman my ETA .She was very pleasant and said the room would be ready for us.Imagine my horror when we arrived and were told we didn't have a room! I pleaded with the man to check with his wife about our booking but he insisted that all the rooms were full.We were going to a wedding party, nowhere to get washed and changed let alone spend the night. This is appalling by anyone's standards Wehad no option but to come home...weekend ruined.
-1* STAR IS FAR TOO GENEROUS!! I was working in the area for the week so our boss booked for us to stay 3 nights. If only id seen reviews beforehand.Managed to stay about half an hour & thats just because it took the owner 20 mins to come to the door once id already rang an explained we had a room booked an was outside.The Owner (john?) came to the door pissed out of his head! Stank of ale & could just about hold his kex up! He stumbled off the step into the main road (could easily of been ran over) mutterin to himself & wandered off round the back. I gave him the benefit of the doubt & guessed he was takin us to the room. Followed behind him up the stairs an had to hold him up as he was fallin back.Took us to room 11. Wow what a sh*t tip. He literally opened door, said there ya go' turned around & bounced off the walls down the stairs swearin at me when i asked where parking was.?? I was gobsmacked before i had a chance to look at the room. How hes running a guest house is beyond me. If this isnt enough to put you off then im sure these pics will. Could not believe my eyes. Pushed bed to the side & found sweet wrappers, jizz stains EMPTY USED CONDOM WRAPPERS?? The place was crawlin, mounds of dust everywhere!! & what looked like someones vomit stains splattered on floor!Thats just the room. Crusty Bed linens & brown stained towels left hanging to dry next to binns rammed with empy lager bottles. The Garden if you could call it that, was like a bomb site sh*te everywhere. Looking through the history on tripadvisor now & looks like this has been like this a long time... if your after a cheap nights kip & good location get yaself a sleepin bag & kip in the field opposite! Or if ya brave enough theres 2 nights left on reservation keys are still in door!
Good room facilities. Bathroom clean and clean comfy bed. Few cobwebs in the room and no one there to check you in. Had to call a mobile and was directed to room. The place is being refurbed and will look good when its done
No place reasonable to park. The contractors who we talked to did not sound like it was very great. We did not stay. We felt our car was soo far away and no real help from those running it. I think it's a bit like where the council would house someone who's homeless. Certainly the location is close the Beverley minster. But that is all I can say positive... it smelled like smoke where we had entered. I won't tell anyone to go there for certain.
